Hemimorphite with Calcite (Larry Krause)

Item Description

This CABINET plate of hemimorphite with calcite is incredibly sulptural and striking. Very glassy and sharp, hemimorphite crystals ring the back of the sturdy gossan plate like out-of-kilter fence posts. The floor of the plate hosts a striking spray of horizontal hemimorphites to 4.3 cm (fallen over fence posts). Viewing the backside of the piece is dramatically different, as the "fence posts" are coated with scintillating, hematite-included calcite rhombs. This would be a first-class Santa Eulalia combo, except that there are several broken hemimorphite crystals on the floor of the plate and on either end of the "fence line". As it is, it still has striking aesthetic quality from either direction. Ex Larry Krause dealer stock.
