Item Description

A dramatic, fine quality and highly aesthetic display specimen of the beautiful old Hemimorphites from the Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This eye-catching small cabinet features a prominent, stark white, rather lustrous, layered, prismatic group of crystals measuring 4.2 cm long, aesthetically flaring off of gossan matrix. Additional groups of Hemimorphite are present on the piece as well, creating an almost "jackstraw"-esque effect. The final touch to the piece is that are several GEM quality, colorless crystals of Calcite sprinkled all over the piece, creating a "studded jewel" effect. These classic specimens are some of the finest examples of crystallized Hemimorphite in the world, and when you find a piece with excellent arrangement and displayability, it's truly impressive. If you collect minerals of Mexico or specifically the Ojuela Mine, or you just love fine quality display specimens or even secondary ore minerals, don't miss out on this one. This piece was mined in the 1970s.
