Item Description
Spherical aggregates of very glassy and lustrous, translucent, colorless, orthorhombic Hemimorphite crystals are very richly and aesthetically scattered on the sculptural large 3-dimensional gossan crust. The clusters reach about 2.0 cm across on this striking specimen. This impressive, rich piece probably comes from the 2011-2014 collecting efforts by artisanal miners. See the excellent Mineralogical Record locality article in the July-August, 2018, Vol. 49, No. 4 issue. Ex Wouter van Tichelen Collection. Specimens with isolated crystal clusters are rare from here and this is an exceptional example with well-formed crystals.
