Item Description

Some of the world's finest Hemimorphite specimens have come from the Santa Eulalia area in Mexico. These specimens are some of the most aesthetic and eye catching pieces from this locality. Typically we're used to seeing stark white/colorless Hemimorphite specimens from this area, but this specimen features notably grey/smoky colored, highly lustrous crystal groups of Hemimorphite measuring up to 3.1 cm across on minor gossan matrix. For the size, quality and overall aesthetics of this specimen, it is a great Mexican display piece from this classic locality. You never see this particular shade of Hemimorphite from this locality. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California. After retiring to Prescott, Arizona in the early 2000s, Gary rekindled his childhood love of minerals, amassing a collection of roughly 2000 specimens focusing on localities in which he and his wife had lived or visited (Mexico, Peru and the western / southwestern United States). You can read Gary's obituary here https://www.dcourier.com/news/2019/apr/27/obituary-gary-richard-weaver/
