Hemimorphite (RARE Colorado locality)

An incredibly hard to find Hemimorphite specimen from the lesser-known Wolftone Mine, just east of Leadville, Colorado featuring a rich coverage of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, thin, white prismatic crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm long, on oxidized matrix. It's certainly one of the richest examples we've ever seen from the locality. Hemimorphite might not be a terribly rare mineral, but it's almost unheard of from Leadville, and highly sought after by Colorado mineral collectors. If you collect secondary ore minerals, specimens from Colorado or you're a fan of Hemimorphite, this is something that is virtually unseen in today's market, and it has great pedigree to boot! The piece comes with several labels, including collection labels from well-known Arizona dealer, Evan Jones along with Dick Strecker, who assembled one of the top Colorado mineral collections in the last 30 years.
