Item Description
A beautiful and certainly uncommon blue color Hemimorphite from the renowned copper deposit at Kimbedi in the Congo. Typically, Hemimorphite is colorless, and I have only seen blue Hemimorphite like this from a few world localities. The important aspect of this Hemimorphite is the fact that it is NOT opaque, but actually GEMMY with good luster! The crystals are pretty attractive up close, and this is undoubtedly one of the few Hemimorphites from this locality that I have seen, especially with this ITENSE color. Additionally, minor white crystals of Cerussite crystal can be seen on the side of the piece as well. We photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens. Don't miss out on this rare and beautiful display specimen. This is one of the better ones from Kimbedi, with pretty good gemminess.
