Hemimorphite (rare blue color)

A beautiful and certainly uncommon blue color Hemimorphite from the renowned copper deposit at Kimbedi in the Congo. Typically, Hemimorphite is colorless, and I have only seen blue Hemimorphite like this from a few world localities. This piece features wonderfully bright sky blue botryoids of Hemimorphite on gossan matrix. The crystals are a bit gemmy when backlit. This is undoubtedly one of the few Hemimorphites from this locality that I have seen with this color. This is one of the better ones from Kimbedi, with great color, but not quite the top gemminess that we've seen in some of the best specimens.
