Item Description
A beautiful and certainly uncommon blue color Hemimorphite from the renowned copper deposit at Kimbedi in the Congo. Typically, Hemimorphite is colorless, and I have only seen blue Hemimorphite like this from a few world localities. The important aspect of this Hemimorphite is the fact that it is NOT opaque, but actually somehwat GEMMY / translucent with good luster! The crystals are pretty attractive up close, and this is undoubtedly one of the few Hemimorphites from this locality that I have seen, especially with this color. Additionally, and tiny cyclic twinned golden Cerussite crystal can be seen under high magnification. We photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens. Don't miss out on this rare and beautiful display specimen. This is one of the better ones from Kimbedi, with pretty good gemminess.
