Hemimorphite on Goethite/Limonite stalactites

An eye-catching specimen of the classic Hemimorphites from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This world-renowned locality for several decades has produced some of the most iconic mineral specimens from any Mexican locality. This miniature sized piece is showy and fine quality display specimen featuring fine crystallized groups ("sprays") comprising sharp, well-formed, bladed white crystals of Hemimorphite, with individual crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm long which have grown over thin stalactitic of Goethite or Limonite. The contrast of these species makes for a very eye-catching specimen, as the Hemimorphite is beautifully separated by the dark iron oxide "spires". No major damage that I can find, and this a wonderfully aesthetic piece of this well-known material. Valued in the inventory at $500.
