Hemimorphite on Goethite/Limonite stalactites

A classic example of the excellent Hemimorphite specimens from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This locality has produced some of the most iconic mineral specimens from any Mexican locality. This particular piece is showy and fine quality display specimen featuring wonderful crystallized groups ("sprays") comprising sharp, well-formed, bladed white crystals, with individual crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm long which have grown over thin stalactitic of Goethite or Limonite. The contrast of these species makes for a very eye-catching specimen, as the Hemimorphite is beautifully separated by the dark iron oxide "spires". No major damage that I can find, and this a wonderfully aesthetic piece of this well-known material. Valued in the inventory at $950.
