Hemimorphite on Goethite/Limonite stalactites

A really showy and rarely style of the classic Hemimorphite specimens from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This famous old mine is still producing today, and for many many years has produced some of the most iconic mineral specimens from any Mexican locality. This particular piece is an eye-catching and fine quality display specimen featuring wonderful crystallized groups ("sprays") comprising sharp, well-formed, bladed white crystals of Hemimorphite, with individual crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm long which have grown over thin stalactitic of Goethite or Limonite. The contrast of these species against one another, along with the striking three-dimensional form of the piece makes for a very alluring specimen, as the Hemimorphite is beautifully separated by the dark iron oxide "spires". No major damage that I can find, but there are some small contacts when you look closely. A wonderfully aesthetic piece of this well-known mineral, in a unique form from this historic locality.
