The Santa Eulalia Mining District in Mexico has produced some of the most iconic mineral specimens from anywhere in the country. One of the signature species for many years has been Hemimorphite, as some of the finest crystallized examples of the species have been found here. This miniature display specimen is a truly eye-catching and three-dimensional display piece featuring dozens of sharp, lustrous, well-formed, white bladed crystals of Hemimorphite creating a gorgeous "flower" or "spray" with crystals flaring in several different directions. The largest Hemimorphite measures 1.2 cm long. A tiny bit of gossan matrix can be seen at the center of the specimen. The piece is in excellent condition all around, with no major damage that I can find. I love how the crystals have distinct separation between them, and they're not a tightly intergrown group. You don't see a lot of Hemimorphites like this from anywhere else in the world, and this particular piece is about as showy and alluring as it gets, especially for the size. Valued at $500-$700 retail.
