Hemimorphite (fine blue color) (2020 discovery)

Over the years, there have been a few important discoveries of attractive blue Hemimorphite from a few localities in the renowned copper deposits in Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville). A few months ago (May 2020) we picked up a small but good quality parcel of new material from the M'Fouati Mine. These new specimens have excellent color and the vast majority are good sized display specimens. This small cabinet sized piece features a coverage of beautiful bright sky blue colored botryoidal Hemimorphite which is associated with a bit of blue-green Chrysocolla (or possibly Rosasite?) along with some dark blue crystals of the rare copper zinc phosphate, Veszelyite! A very attractive and good quality example of these beautiful new specimens. Valued at $400 in the inventory.
