Item Description

A beautiful rich blue Hemimorphite specimen from an undisclosed locality in Pinal County. My first thought was that it could be from Tiger, but I haven't seen a piece with this saturation of color from the area. If anybody has information as to the exact locality, please let us know. With that said, the specimen features gorgeous botryoidal blue aggregates on all sides. One end of the specimen has a somewhat skeletal / hollow area where it looks like it might have been pseudomorphed (?) or altered by another mineral. Good quality all around and the color is rarely seen for this part of Arizona. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4185). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
