Item Description
Here we have a beautiful and certainly uncommon vibrant blue Hemimorphite from the renowned copper deposits in the Congo (Brazzaville). These are uncommon, and this piece is certainly worth picking up if you collect secondary ore minerals. I don't know if this piece is from the famous M'fouati Mine or a lesser known deposit around Kimbedi, as the label only states it's form Brazzavile. There are lots of colors for Hemimorphite around the world, but blue is always in high demand for collectors. This piece has a gorgeous color radiating through the somewhat "clamshell"-shaped. Don't miss out on this rare and beautiful display specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6742). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
