Item Description

Scintillating spherical aggregates of glassy gray hemimorphite blades cover the limonite matrix on this very rich and showy small cabinet from this old aptly named Utah Pb-Ag-Cu-Zn mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12754 and acquired from Scott Williams. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). This is a rich, excellent and typical example of the species from this locale. It must have been a significant find, as even the mine level is known.
