Hemimorphite

Item Description

A rich and saturated hemimorphite specimen! A thin crust of choice, spherical, lustrous and translucent, blue hemimorphite smothers a rolling limestone matrix, here. The spheres reach 1.5 cm across and are naturally arranged in an undulating pattern. This is classic old material, seldom seen today in the market. It came out in the 1960s, I believe I was told. Occasionally they turn up in old collections. (NOTE: It does look chinese in style, I admit. The color/botryoidal look is just a little off from what we see from china, as is the matrix.)
