Hematite with Quartz (classic 1960s find)

A classic from the late 1960s finds here of sharp, crystallized hematite blades on quartz, it is also sparkling and pretty by modern standards. That sharp quartz sticking out is 2 cm, and is a so called beta-quartz habit crystal, a rare style. For this combination, style, size, the hematite is superbly sharp and lustrous. It is overall an excellent specimen in size class from a historic find (many dated to 1969 or so). The mine is long closed. These are classics, and at shows such pieces are generally in the $1000-4500 range.
