Massive, large, tabular hematite crystals are sculpturally stacked on this impressive large mounded specimen. The splendent blocky crystals reach 5.5 cm and scattered patches of golden rutile blades are a classic accent. MINDAT does not list Gentil do Oro as a Bahia locale. Possibly from Novo Horizonte or Ibitiara. Bahia hematites of this size are very uncommon on the market. The noted bruised crystals and periphery wear certainly have only minimal impact to this striking 360-degree piece. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
