Hematite var: Kidney Ore (fine locality specimen)

A classic, fine quality and really showy display piece of this lesser seen material from Morocco. This piece is a robust display specimen of what is known as "Kidney Ore", featuring lovely and very well-formed classic agglomerations of mammillary aggregates, with that deep reddish-black metallic hue. The surface of the specimen has a fine reflective luster and the large aggregate atop the specimen measures 5.2 cm across, which is notably larger than the VAST majority of the Hematites we've seen from this locality. It's a wonderful piece of these excellent Hematites, which are reminiscent of the old English classics from the Florence Mine. Definitely worth picking up if you collect Moroccan minerals or worldwide Hematites. These are not nearly as easy to find on the market today as they were years ago, especially in such good condition with excellent displayability. No damage on the top / display side of the piece, but the edges are contacted where it was separated from the pocket wall.
