Item Description
Lustrous, densely intergrown, dark gray to brown hematite plates form a rich and showy mounded small cabinet from the old manganese producing mines of this area of France. The mines were worked during the 18th to 20th centuries. The matrix is hematite and quartz. Ex Kay Robertson Collection No. 9832 and acquired in the early 1980s. Valued at $1250.
