Item Description

An impressive, 360-degree, multi-generational large calcite crystal specimen from Santa Eulalia. The two striking, large, intergrown scalenhedrons appear to have three generations of calcite: first the primary scalenohedrons with rust-red hematite inclusions; next are the preferentially deposited, small, glassy, hematite-tinted, calcite rhombs; and finally the very glassy, transparent to translucent, near colorless, calcite overgrowth mimicing shape of the large scalenohedrons. Very choice and pristein, 360-degree calcite from the Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased from Ken Roberts in 1984, soon after they were collected.
