Item Description

A striking and aesthetic jumble of intergrown calcite scalenohedrons from the famous Stank Mine. Some of the glassy, translucent crystals have the classic hematite tint, while others are colorless. The large crystal is 4.4 cm. The crystals are attached to classic hematite kidney ore. The interior of this fine multi-sided piece is pristine. The noted bit of periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this classic old-timer from the Stank Mine, which closed in 1901. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
