Item Description
Classic, highly desirable old-time hematite-included calcite from the famous Bigrigg Mine at Egremont. Glassy, transparent, pretty pink, hematite-tinted, calcite scalenohedrons, to 2.7 cm, are dramatically festooned on the hematite matrix plate on this impressive and excellent small cabinet. Complete all-around and in great shape for the crystal density. It's hard to see the three broken crystals in the interior, but certainly have minimal impact to the overall stunning visual aspect of this old-time, aesthetic 360-degree specimen. This famous old Cumbria iron mine, operated from only 1874 to 1914. Valued at $850-1000 and worth it.
