Item Description
A fantastically sculptural cluster of densely intergrown, extremely glassy, transparent to translucent calcite rhombs with a beautiful light iron oxide tinting from Tsumeb. It looks like a Modern Art sculpture. Every turn presents a dramatically different perspective to this very fine specimen. Tsumeb, like Dal'negorsk is renowned for calcite variety and qualty and this is a super example. Nearly pristine, with all the crystal density, with only a few gently bruised edges. Ex Dr. Miguel Romero Collection, who assembled easily the world's finest Mexico collection. Specimens from other localties were seldom on display outside of his home. Formerly on display at the University of Arizona Mineral Museum. Valued at $2000 for quality and provenance. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! The extreme glassiness, luster and color made photography difficult.
