Hematite (superb mirror bright crystal)

What a wonderful Hematite specimen. N'Chwaning Hematites are among the finest examples of the species in the world, with some of the largest, most lustrous crystals ever found. This particular specimen hosts an outstanding, sharp, metallic, silvery-grey colored highly modified trigonal crystal measuring 2.7 cm associated with minor secondary crystals on a matrix composed of Hausmannite and Gaudefroyite. The front face of the main Hematite is remarkably lustrous (splendent) with the highest mirror like reflectiveness you'll see in a Hematite crystal. Very hard to photograph, but really impressive in person. The main crystal is actually doubly-terminated as well, and I can't see any major damage with naked eye, though there is a small spot on the left end where it looks like it might have a bit of skeletal growth. Absolutely superb quality, as good as anything from the Swiss Alps, Brazil or anywhere else in the world. Priced in our inventory at $1,000
