Mineral specimens are RARE from this old obscure Virginia manganese prospect. A sculptural intergrown cluster of matte-finish, bubbly hematite stalactites is dramatically enhanced by the secondary overgrowth bright rust-red and highly lustrous gray/black hematite. Both ends were contacted against the vug walls on this striking and colorful 360-degree rarity from the Ted Bartels Collection. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
