Scintillating, jet-black, hematite plates richly cover both sides of this strikingly sculptural large matrix on this rare and excellent older specimen from Mt. Vesuvias. An earlier generation of tiny hematites is also noted on both sides. Specimens of this richness, size and quality are rare from here. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and purchased from a collection in 1978.
