Attractive and sharp, this fine Hematite specimen is from the Belo Horizonte area in Minas Gerais. The major crystal is 3.1 cm, complex, and has a high metallic luster. The luster is so good, in fact, that you can easily see the reflection of the camera on the faces. To make the piece even more interesting, this main crystal rests on a bed of smaller, well-formed Hematites, all on a solid Hematite matrix. The Hematites just kept getting better and better as the piece grew. An excellent Hematite for Minas Gerais, or for anywhere else, for that matter. A rare old classic style! Valued highly. If from Africa, where they are actually more common but also more famous, this might be thousands of dolalrs. For some reason, Brazilian hematite of equally good quality is often undervalued, perhaps because the country is not famous for the metallics.
