Item Description
This miniature sized specimen is from a tiny pocket found in 2018 at Sijiang,. While Hematite is not a rare species, it isn't found in too many Chinese localities in fine quality crystal. These pieces from Sijiang are some of the best quality Hematite crystals from any locality in China. They compare favorably to fine quality Hematites from the Swiss Alps, Elba Island, Brazil or any other locality where good Hematites have been found. The piece is filled with sharp, lustrous, well-formed, hexagonal bladed crystals of dark metallic grey Hematite measuring up to 7 mm across, sitting on matrix. Minor roughness here and there, but overall the piece is still very good quality. The combination of the high luster, well-formed crystals and beautiful form make it a must have specimen for any fan of Hematite, Chinese minerals or worldwide oxides.
