Hematite pseudomorph after Marcasite (classic material)

A beautiful quality specimen of these classic Hematite pseudomorphs after Marcasite from the White Desert in Egypt Typically, the majority of the pieces you'll see from this area feature more slender groups forming "star"-like bursts, but this piece has heftier/thicker crystals than we're used to seeing. The piece is nearly a complete "floater" (I can see one small point of contact) and features many "blades" of what used to be Marcasite, now preserved quite beautifully by dark reddish-bronze metallic Hematite. A nice piece, worth adding to any pseudomorph collection for the size, quality and beautiful crystallization. I love the fact that the original Marcasite crystals are still quite sharp and well-defined, eve after being replaced by the Hematite.
