Item Description

Mineral specimens are very uncommon from this old Silurian-aged Wisconsin dolostone quarry and fine pseudomorphs of any type are EXTREMELY RARE. This sculptural small cabinet consists of densely intergrown pseudomorphs of matte-finish hematite after sharp tabular marcasite crystals. A RARE and excellent pseudomorph from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. Not pretty to look at, but a MUST for the species or Wisconsin collector.
