Item Description
The first discovery of the Hematite after Magnetite pseudomorphs from this remote area was quite the attention-getter in the late 1990s, but it turns out that the second batch a few years later, from which this is from, was of even higher quality. In fact, they were shockng for the sharp geometry and remain unequaled to this day. The excellent, sparkly luster, phenomenal hoppered forms and symmetry, and complex clusters are all hallmarks of these pseudos, especially the second find. I do not know what particular quirk of geological conditions caused this, but the results are amazing. This floater displays beautifully for 360 degrees all around. The pics really highlight the luster, and the piece is even better in person. Sharp, complete, and geometrix - it is well balanced for the size. Valued $1000-1200
