Item Description

An outstanding large doubly terminated floater pseudomorph from the well-known 1990s to early 2000s finds from a volcano in a national park, where collecting is strictly prohibited. The sculptural form of this spectacular (literally) 360-degree piece is off of the charts. Hematite has replaced a dramatically elongated magnetite octahedron. The hematite has bright metallic-gray lustre. All four sides have fantastic skeletal herrringbone features and the 2.3 cm perpendicular octo adds even more pizzazz. This is a superb piece and who knows when more will come now. Pristine. Prices have come down a bit, from when these first came out, but we feel that the quality of this piece is incredibly fine. Valued at $2000. Ex David Schorsch Collection, well-known East Coast collector and antiques dealer. Every turn presents a surreal different perspective. Seldom on the market today in any quality.
