Item Description
Hematite from the Big Bertha Mine is an Arizona classic and are considered to be some of the finest hematites in the USA and the world. A dramatic and elegant parallel-growth cluster of three diminishing in size sharp, brilliant metallic-gray, hexagonal tabular crystals is beautifully set on the thumbnail quartz matrix with flat-lying hematites. Sporadic finds were made from the 1940s to 1990s, with major finds in the 1970s. The one clean repair to the hematite is certainly only a modest detraction to this adorable and classic thumbnail combination.
