Item Description

I can honestly say that I have only had a few pieces of Hematite from Tsumeb to offer prior to this piece. It's obviously not very common from this prolific locality, and any Tsumeb completionist should JUMP on the change to add a piece like this to their Tsumeb suite. It's interesting for the localty showing massive to crystalline form with a pinkish color from minor oxidation and the label states that it is sitting on Galena. Upon close inspection, I did find a few spots of exposed silvery Galena. A very hard to find piece of this uncommon material from this beloved locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6049) with a note on the label that it was purchased from Prosper Williams in Toronto. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
