Botyroidal hematite kidney ore caps the elongate, sculptural vug lined with chatoyant, two-toned, brown, fibrous hematite on this showy and excellent large specimen from the well-known Montreal Mine. This classic Wisconsin underground iron mine closed prior to 1967. Older material. Ex Wallace Bates Collection.
