Item Description

Highly lustrous rust-red bubbly botryoids form a classic, sculptural and excellent mounded mammilary hematite "kidney ore" small cabinet from the famous extinct mines of the West Cumberland Iron Field. The backside dramatically reveals the radial banding of the acicular hematite crystals, adding much character. Choice old-time material from the Bob Reynolds Collection. Bob is a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum.
