Item Description

An impressive, aesthetic and uncommon large combination plate from this famed locale. A dramatic, 5.4 cm, cluster of lustrous, battleship-gray, hematite "iron roses" is attractively set on the undulating plate of glassy, blocky, K-feldspar variety adularia crystals. The form and stout quality of the "roses" in the cluster is noteworthy. The rich peppering of small hematites and sparkly tiny muscovite plates on the adularia crystals is a super accent. The iron rose cluster has exciting 360-degree visual. This is most excellent and uncommonly large example of the combination species and noted locale. An old specimen, and with unusual aesthetics and matrix contrast - Valued at least $1500 but I have seen pieces I like less at Munich, for 2000 euros and more.
