Hematite ("Iron Rose") with Quartz

A rarely seen Hematite "iron rose" with a very gemmy, sharp, lustrous, slightly smoky colored Quartz crystal. The Hematite rose is incredibly lustrous, with classic silvery metallic color. I have only seen a few of these from China, and this is not from Lechang or Jinlong hill. I obtained the piece from a Chinese dealer at the Munich Show who was very explicit that this did not come from the more noted Hematite localities in China, but rather from Xichang Co., in the Sichuan Province. The piece almost reminds me of Swiss Hematite / Quartz combos from the standpoint of quality. If you're a Chinese collector, or if you like classics associations from unusual localities, do not pass this one up.
