Item Description

An aesthetic, stout / thick, layered, lustrous, two-sided, silvery-grey, Hematite "Iron Rose" from the famous locality at Ouro Preto which is best known for producing the finest Imperial Topaz crystals in the world. There are a few minor imperfections, but certainly not detracting from this showy piece. The specimen comes with an old dealer label from Luiz Menezes. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
