Item Description

Highly unusual and showy large two-sided combination from this historic old mining district, first lead and then for fluorite. The front of this sculptural piece is covered with classic, sparkly, small hematite-included quartz crystals. This is called eisenkiesel in Germany for the typical red color. The back is dramatically different! Glassy, translucent, nailhead spar calcite crystals, to 1.1 cm, totally cover the mounded tapered piece. Modest pink calcite fluorescence. The last mine closed in 1987. Formerly in the Engelbrecht Collection. Ex Tim Sherburn Collection and valued at $600 on his own label. RARE and outstanding older large combination material from the well-known classic locale.
