Hematite-included Fluorite above Fluorite

Item Description

Rust-red hematite is richly and preferentially included in a striking and sculptural large specimen of intergrown fluorite cubes, to 5.2 cm. The cubes appear to be gray-blue under normal light, BUT back lighting reveals the gorgeous, translucent, rich blue of the included cubes and the underlying fluorite, which appear to be deep purple under normal light. The underlying fluorite fluoresces purple under LW UV light. Another highly unusual, large and showy mounded fluorite combination from this obscure extinct lead mine and then attempted fluorite mine near Albuquerque (MINDAT).
