Hematite-included Calcite w/ phantom

Item Description

A dramatic large hematite-included calcite from this well-known Chinese copper mine. Exceptionally glassy and gemmy nailhead rhombs have fantastic Mercedes Benz star parallel-growth hematite inclusions! The rhombs are strikingly perched atop an earlier generation of hematite-included scalenohedrons with a surreal effect. One face of a rhomb is partially contacted, but has no damage, per se. The noted basal and side periphery wear on both sides is noted, but has minimal impact to the overall high quality of this most unusual and excellent calcite.
