Item Description
Mineral specimens from this obscure underground mine near Tucson are rarely on the market. The Vekol Mine was discovered in 1879 and produced intermittently until 1965. Highly lustrous, hematite-included, rust-red calcite rhombs are richly clustered in the vug lined with tiny, intensely sparkly, gem-like, dolomite rhombs. This is an outstanding combination specimen from this very uncommon Arizona locale. Ex Harold Urish Collection, a 40-year Tucson collector.
