Hematite-included Calcite (fluorescent)

Item Description

A striking and colorful, large calcite scalenohedron from Santa Eulalia. The frontal faces of this colorless, lustrous crystal are lightly etched and festooned with tiny sparkly, hematite included, calcite microcrystals. The back, unetched, glassy faces reveal vivid, rust-red, hematite inclusions. Complete all-around, nearly pristine, with only modest bruising. Classic and uncommon older, large material from the 1960s or 70s from the Robert Fender Collection. Orange fluorescence.
