Hematite-included Calcite (Consie Prince Coll.)

Item Description

A striking, very attractive, two-sided, CABINET calcite specimen from Santa Eulalia, Mexico. Sharp, blocky, translucent, "wet-look" calcite rhombs have striking, clay-stained, internal, hematite inclusions. The large crystal is 3.4 cm and the crystals rest on a bed of earlier, small calcites. The crystal isolation on this sculptural older specimen is very noteworthy. The back is also festooned with calcite rhombs, but have decidedly less included hematite. This excellent and aesthetic, older piece is pristine and is from the Consie Prince Collection. Classic Santa Eulalia calcite.
