Item Description
A dramatic, very attractive calcite specimen from recent finds, about 2005, at Santa Eulalia, Mexico. Sharp, lustrous, and translucent, dogtooth calcite crystals are partially coated with hematite and have striking, clay-stained, internal, hematite phantoms. The colorless, near transparent dogtooth with the partial hematite coating and nifty red phantom really adds pizzazz to this piece. Crystals reach 5.7 cm on this piece. The calcites are nearly pristine, with one very gently cleaved termination to the colorless calcite. The bit of noted periphery wear is certainly a modest detraction. An impressive piece, with several display angles.
