Hematite-included Calcite

Item Description

A dramatic, very attractive, CABINET calcite plate from recent finds at Santa Eulalia, Mexico. Sharp, lustrous, and translucent, dogtooth calcite crystals are partially coated with hematite and have striking, clay-stained, internal, hematite phantoms. The striking large crystal is about 6.0 cm. The calcites are essentially pristine on this choice larger piece, with the noted periphery wear being only a modest detraction.
