Item Description

An impressive and aesthetic large old-time barite specimen from the famous iron mines Cumbria. Stout, intergrown barite blades are dramatically set upright on the angled barite and hematite matrix. The striking large compound crystal is 8.0 x 4.4 x 1.8 cm and the rich rust-red included hematite adds pizzazz. The display face of the large blade has only gentle bruising at or near the terminations. Classic and excellent barite valued at $800. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
